Rejuvenation to Service - A Season of Growth and Giving
October brought abundant opportunities for healing, creative expression, and reconnecting with nature's restorative magic during hikes, retreats, and art workshops. As the season shifts to November, our focus turns to giving back through community service projects.
This month, we'll be serving at a Christmas in November event, supporting Tara Davis and Woven, and more days of impact. It's a time to harness our energy assisting others as the year comes to a close.
From finding renewal through the arts and outdoors, now we plant seeds through acts of service. Join us this month as we move with intention from rejuvenation to sharing with our communities. There are so many ways to make a difference!
OCTOBER HIGHLIGHTS
We did ALL the things in October!
Well, not ALL the things, but definitely a LOT of things! Several hikes, fireside chat, kayaking, and some good eating. Queens Marsha and Katedra went to the State Fair. Queens Mara and Yaviri were glowing in foam. Oh, and there was the HOLA Festival where we learned more about Queen Yaviri. There was Rare Soul at Society at 229 and an art exhibit at Brooklyn Collective. Queen Tara Davis was watching men scale down buildings at Creative Mornings.
Special thanks to our sponsors this month, who made these opportunities for us.
Great Trails NC, Doc Hills Family Care, Discover Uwharrie, River Daisy Outdoor Co, and Eliah Soul.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
This month we are shining the light on Queen Tara Davis. Tara is the founder of Woven Fashion Incubator and a founding member of the Culture Queens.
Tara brings a beautiful spirit, an extensive background in the arts through fashion and a passion for providing underserved fashion enthusiasts with the tools they need for success.
Woven recently faced a major challenge and had to relocate to another facility until they found their new, larger, home. Woven is the only incubator program in North Carolina for individuals who are pursuing a career in the fashion industry. Woven continues to operate in spite of their current challenges and will be presenting at The Mint Museum on November 10. The students and designers are showing true resiliency.
The work Tara and Woven are doing are needed by many more than the 43 who have benefited from the program in its 11 months of operation. To support Tara and the Woven program, be sure to follow and engage with them on social media, attend their upcoming event at The Mint Museum Uptown, and donate to their GoFundMe.

WORDS FROM THE FOUNDER
So, peep this. It is 5:01 AM and I am tired but more aggravated than anything else. Here’s why.
My plan was to finish this newsletter yesterday (Oct 31) but some things came up and I got distracted. I spent the evening working on it and thought I was finished. Yes, I was aggravated with my unusually slow computer tonight but I kept working.
I would switch to my phone and try to make the updates. I would switch back to my computer because something I needed to add was here. Well, after what I thought was a completed project at 3amish…yes I bundled that
Anyway, I finish the MailChimp part of this process (pray we get some help) and update it, press send and claim my victory of finishing by 4:01 am.
Being the extra careful, always want things to be excellent, over thinker I am, I check the website one more time. The article written by Queen Yaviri looks amazing. Bet. The updated testimonials look good. Check. November News looks good, I think. Something is off but I don’t quite get it until I start having to upload the same pictures I just uploaded an hour ago.
My heart drops and I want to throw my computer across the room and cry. SOMEHOW, the November News post is completely GONE! Somehow, that amazing recap by Yaviri is copied over to NOVEMBER NEWS!!
How Sway?!!
Like, I was feeling wonderful about ALL of the news and updates shared. I was loving my original note I typed for you all. I believe that is what made me sad, mad, and defeated. I poured my heart out about how I was exhausted and needed some help.
As I sat here and started working to rebuild this post, I was reminded of how GOD is very intentional. Of all the things that would be uploaded and added back, my words would not be. I remember what I said and I will probably share them again, but for now, the message has changed.
For now, the message at 5:11 am is to know that even when things fall apart they can be fixed. There are things we want to share with others that GOD will keep from being communicated, for whatever reason. Although things do not go as planned, they will always be what is needed.
Queen, or King if you are reading, you are right where you are supposed to be doing what you are supposed to be doing. There will be distractions and setbacks but you will recover. You will have to stop and take a deep breath and decide if you want to accept the defeat or work to get it done.
Sure, someone may be up reading Yaviri’s wonderful article about our time spent fellowshiping courtesy of our sponsors (Great Trails and Doc Hills) but I believe, the message everyone needs will be received when its needed.
We are not perfect beings. Our goal in life should be to deliver excellence and serve others in love. To be a helper to our brothers and sisters. To know when to shut it down and to step up.
As you read this and go about your day, know you are loved regardless of mistakes, setbacks, failures and disappointments. I don’t know what I did (the computer did it) to cause the mix-up. I just know the purpose was to share a message of hope.
Everything will work out!
You’ve got this. You’ve got everything you need to get the job done and continue your journey. Believe me when I say that.
I leave you with hope, peace, blessings and love as I try to get some sleep before getting up to do it all over again in two hours.
